Translation of name
The Triceratops is translated from the Greek langauge for "Three-Horned Face". Originally they had named it the "Horrible Beast" as it resembled something unworldly. But as they studied the Skull, the noticed the large backbone leading to 2 large horns and one smaller horn located on the nose. Thus scientists named is the Triceratops!
Was it a Carnivore, or a Herbivore?
After studying the shape of the Dinosaur's mouth, they discovered a set of sharp molar teeth around the back of the throat, which were sharp enough to chew up meat! Scientists couldn't determine whether it was a carnivore OR a herobivore, as the large beak indicated the dinosaur would've eaten plants as well as meat! So they settled with the fact that this particular dinosaur was in fact an omnivore! Which means it ate both plants AND meat!
What Predators did it have?
The Triceratops, being an omnivore, had very little predators. The only known ones are the Tyrannosaurus Rex (these two were mortal enemies) and possibly small groups of maniraptoran dinosaurs. (Welociraptors, Novaraptors etc...)
